Birds, Habitat, and Geology with Robert Carter and Mitch Phillips
Have you ever looked at a bird range map, found yourself inside the continuous color and wondered why you can’t find the bird? Have you ever found yourself looking at Camelback Mountain, or the Papago Buttes, or Red mountain and wondered at the relationship between those rocks? Or maybe you’re curious what mining in Globe has to do with birds and water, riparian habitat, and the health of human and animal communities in Greater Phoenix.Â
If any of these speak to you, join us on a field trip that looks at birding from a different perspective. We’ll engage our curiosity, and sharpen our critical thinking skills while we observe the early migrating birds moving through and contemplate the secrets of the rocks, and the info we can glean from them.
